The Master of Game Assets is a comprehensive path to becoming a Game Artist specializing in modeling and surfacing for Video Games on the Unreal Engine platform.

The Master's in Game Assets is aimed at those interested in Game Design who want to work in the production phase of creating the 3D models of Characters (characters), Environment (environment) and Props (objects) that make up the visual world of video games. The Game Assets training course addresses advanced modeling techniques (low poly and high poly) of characters and environments for Video Games through the use of professional software such as Autodesk Maya and ZBrush. It will then move on to texture creation with Photoshop and surfacing with Substance Painter and Substance Designer. This is followed by the rigging module. Students will learn how to handle importing assets rendered with Marmoset Toolbag within the Unreal Engine graphics engine.

The module dedicated to Unreal Engine is supervised by Emanuele Taddei, Unreal Authorized Instructor and Team Leader of the Interactive in Rainbow CGI department.

Instrumentation needed

A PC must also be owned at home for attendance.
Minimum PC requirements: Microsoft® Windows® 10 -- Processor: Intel Core i7 12th Gen or AMD Ryzen equivalent
Ram at least 32GB -- Minimum Video Card: Nvidia RTX 3060/4060 or higher
MAC use is not recommended
For Online attendance: stable internet connection, headset with microphone, graphics tablet and webcam


High school diploma
Basic computer skills and very good command of pc use. Good knowledge of Photoshop (interface management - masks - layers) Minimum knowledge of a 3D Software preferred.

Production Workflow:

It starts with the basics to understand the process and the rules that guide it

Introduction to Maya

Using the international market-leading software Autodesk Maya, the first props begin to be produced

Modeling Environment

Environment realization for videogames, from modular to retail to hard surface with Maya

Sculpting Character

Modeling sculpting organic figures from character to creature with ZBrush

Surfacing Character

With Substance Painter, texturing software, you will give detail and veracity to all materials in the Character

Surfacing Environment

With Substance Designer you will work on surfacing the Environment


Performance tool for real time and forecasting

Unreal and Level Design

Importing assets, defining the map on the rendering engine to fix, setting lights and VFX.

Rigging and Animation

Construction of a skeleton to enable the posing of the character

Marvelous Designer

With the help of Marvelous Designer we will learn how to create and design digital fabrics for 3D models and clothes, for animation and video games


Two weeks of intense teamwork between modeling, surfacing and rendering. We simulate production with a common goal, to work as a team and always give our best

Final Portfolio and Reel Production
