We are going to be present at Lucca Comics and Games with a free Masterclass: “The creation of a 3D character: from design to animation movies, the rules and secrets of a successful character artist”, by Lino Masciulli, Modeling Supervisor at Rainbow CGI and Character Modeling Teacher in the Master in 3D Digital Production..
The event will take place on Friday 2nd November in the Auditorium of Music Institute “L. Boccherini” in Lucca, at 3pm. It is a unique full-immersion experience aimed to all the lovers of 3D and modeling.
Whether it is an animation movie or a videogame, it is the characters who have the amazing ability to truly engage a viewer/player, to trigger unknown emotions and to create the fundamental process of identification.
The creation of a character is a crucial stage of the 3D production workflow: the model has to be technically perfect and aesthetically handsome or convincing.
ut what actually makes a good Character? How can the 3D model become unique and easy-to-recognize, how can it get a specific personality? Lino Masciulli will hold some Z-Brush live sessions to lead the attendees on a journey that will make them understand the rules and secrets of this art, which requires a great deal of creativity and technical expertise.
The Masterclass will be introduced by Serena Fabiani, General Manager at Rainbow Academy.

The presence of Rainbow Academy is part of a broader collaboration between the Rainbow Group and Lucca Comics & Games. Here, indeed, we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Winx Club – one of the most beloved animated tv-series for children in the world – with a special event dedicated to everyone who wants to become a cartoon animator.
“15 years of Winx” is the title of the illustration contest inspired to the magic world of the colourful fairies created by Iginio Straffi – the main prize is a Scholarship for our Master in Concept Art..
An opportunity for all those talented young animators who want to make their dream come true.
The best work will be chosen by a jury composed of members of Rainbow Academy and Lucca Crea, presided by Iginio Straffi; the winner will be given their prize at the Lucca Comics & Games 2018 and will see their work published in the Winx Club Magazine.
