The largest Italian Animation Factory has devised a complete didactic programme aimed at the valorisation of an artist’s creativity and technical skills.
The course’s objective is to give life to characters and stories by way of 2D digital animation: a professional path that prepares students for the world of large Animation companies. The first stage is the creation of a Storyboard using our own software Toon Boom – Storyboard Pro, followed by all the production stages to the creation of an Animatic. The lessons cover storytelling through images, camera shots, language and conventions. There is also a detailed introduction to shot composition and sequence writing. Completing the course is an analysis of the different styles and genres.
In the Harmony module there is an introduction to the basics of animation, followed by the practical experience of the entire production cycle which leads to the making of a 2D Animation product.
The goal is the transformation of an idea into a proper 2D Animation product, by way of professional tools, new technologies and the software in use in the most important international animation Studios, developing our students’ technical and artistic abilities through practical production sessions.
The whole educational path is run and supervised by internationally experienced professionals.

After working as a set designer for film and television, Sergio Riccardi decided to go back to the drawing board. In 2009, he began working in the world of 2D Animation as Animator (cut-out and tradigital), Character Designer, Storyboard Artist, Animation Supervisor and Director. He has also worked on comics and illustrations. He illustrated Assia Petricelli’s books: “Bad Girls, 15 stories of creative and brave women” (Sinnos Editrice), which won the 2014 Andersen Award for Best Comics, and “For ever” (Tunuè). He also illustrated “Salvo e le Mafie” (Sinnos Editrice), a graphic novel written by Riccardo Guido, winner of the 2014 Siani Award for Best Comics.
Among others, he has worked for: Rainbow, Melazeta, Tunuè, La Repubblica, Il Manifesto, Edizioni Becco Giallo, Jacobin Magazine Italia, Coniglio editore, Cisco, Pearson, La scuola editrice, Immedia editrice, Vallaround.
Federico Vallarino was born in Genova in 1982. At a very young age (during his fourth year of elementary school), he realized he wanted to work in the world of animated cartoons. So he enrolled at the Artistic High School U. Boccioni in Milan and then took a BA in Illustration and Multimedia Animation at IED (European Design Insitute). He began working as a freelance and in 2012 he won the Mipjunior International Pitch at Cannes Festival with his project “Koouka”, which was also selected at the Cartoon Forum the following year. In that same year he founded Vallaround Creative Contents, an animation and formation studio, which gave him the opportunity of directing some short movies for the Zecchino d’Oro (a traditional Italian tv-show for children) and collaborating on national and international productions, and, from a didactic point of view, he found himself working with some of the most important Italian education realities. Since 2009, he has worked as the Italian representative of Toon Boom Animation, a Canadian Software House specialized in animation products, and became responsible for the whole Balkan peninsula in 2018. In the same year he also began a fruitful collaboration with Wacom Italia.
